How to Schedule a Business After Hours

Our monthly Business after Hours event offers our members a chance to kick back after work, socialize and network away from the pressures of the workplace.

Held each month, usually on a Tuesday from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Business after Hours offers sponsors a chance to promote their businesses and take their message to other chamber members in a relaxed atmosphere. Please clear the date with the chamber office before making arrangements for your event.

Typically, Business after Hours is hosted by one or two businesses at a restaurant, country club or hotel. It may also be hosted by a larger business with ample parking and a large reception area. We encourage you to keep this in mind when planning your event. We encourage smaller businesses to consider a Business Spotlight in place of a Business after Hours. Business Spotlights usually include tours of the business and a short presentation.

If your business will not accommodate the size of a typical BAH crowd, we suggest booking an event with one of our member businesses. If you wish to cater an event at your own location, we ask that you support one of our members:

The Business after Hours sponsor is responsible for the following:

  • Providing space and parking for 150-170 guests

  • Providing a check-in table

  • Providing a variety of  refreshments (finger foods and beverages)

  • Supplying at least one door prize; other giveaways are optional

  • Providing marketing literature, or offering short tours when appropriate

  • If providing a cash bar with beer, wine or soda, the host site must have a valid beverage license

 

The chamber will:

  • Notify its members by e-mail and through other online means

  • Handle all reservations

  • Staff a check-in table with staffers and Chamber Ambassadors

  • Provide host with an estimated attendance approximately 24 hours before event

  • Supply name tags and a fishbowl or basket for business cards

  • Recruit Ambassadors who will greet guests and make introductions

  • Provide host with attendee business cards at the end of the event

  • Acknowledge the event in weekly newsletter

Once you have scheduled a Business after Hours event, one or more of our Chamber Ambassadors or a chamber staffer will contact you to help you plan an event that draws a crowd and offers opportunities for networking and future business.

This is your event. We will not offer another company's promotional items at the chamber table without your permission.
