The Small Business Council:
Once a month we host Business for Breakfast, a networking event held on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Learn something new and make new contacts. In 2011, the Small Business Council will launch two new awards that recognize local businesses.
The Women's Business Network:
Have lunch with us once a month and learn something new. Our speakers cover everything from fitness to energy conservation to decluttering your home and office.
The Non Profit Network:
This committee of non-profit leaders looks for ways to work together to serve the needs of our community through collaborations and joint efforts.
The Regional Community & Economic Development Partnership:
This group of economic developers and workforce training experts works together to create a plan for making our community an even better place to work or start a business.
The M&M Area Tourism Partnership:
The new group promotes tourism and works to make our area a destination.
Community Leadership Academy:
This eight-month course trains people to serve on boards, run for office and initiate community projects. The program is made possible through the generosity of area businesses. In 2010, the group raised more than $3,000 for area food pantries through an Empty Bowls event.
The Education & Business Partnership:
The group of educators and businesspeople work to create solid relationships between schools and businesses. The partnership coordinates Mini Business World, which teaches teens about business; Career Opportunities Expo, which exposes high-school sophomores to careers; Welcome Educators Breakfast, which welcomes new teachers and school administrators to the community; and the School Board Appreciation effort, which thanks school boards and administrators for their work on behalf or area students.
The Chamber Ambassadors:
The public relations arm of the chamber, this group visits members and helps members connect at Business After Hours events. The Ambassadors also preside over ribbon cuttings and help host open houses and grand openings. In 2010, the Ambassadors created a shop local effort and are currently helping with our Barricade Busters effort.
The Art for All Partnership:
This long-standing committee plans and implements an annual juried art show and promotes area artists. In 2010, the event is set for June 27.
The Aurora-MAAC Committee:
Put your organizational skills to work with us as we plan a summer walk/run event that raises money for the Twin Counties Free Clinic while promoting fitness and the community. The race takes place on July 10 i 2010.
The Chamber Golf Outing Committee:
Join us as we plan our major fund-raising event of the year. Mark your calendars for August 31.
The Wine Tasting Committee:
Help us coordinate an evening of fun and learning that raises money for chamber programs.
The Charity Ball Committee:
Join us as we coordinate a black-tie optional event that raises money for the Twin Counties Free Clinic every December.
