Live & Work

Our community is made up of two "twin cities" divided by a state line that is also a river. The cities are Marinette, Wisconsin, and Menominee, Michigan.  A third city, Peshtigo, is a 6 mile drive to the south.

It's not unusual to work in once city but work in another. Once we were three separate cities, but over the years we became a community.

Doing business in our community

The tri-city area is home to a variety of world-class businesses. Our industries make helicopters, luxury airplane interiors, valve seat inserts, wax paper bags, fire extinguishers and ships. That's not all, of course. Our industrial base is diverse, and so are our service-based businesses.

Located along U.S. 41, we are within easy access of Green Bay, Milwaukee and Chicago. Our deep-water harbors and airport support additional transportation needs. We are served by a railroad and several transit companies.

Living in our community

Our communities are made up of quiet neighborhoods. Many, if not most, offer older homes - some dating back to the 19th century - and tree-lined streets. People here take jog, bike, stroll and walk their dogs. They feel safe.

We have excellent schools, including a two-year campus of the prestigious University of Wisconsin System and a branch campus of Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Both campuses are involved in the community, and offer ample opportunies for personal growth.

In addition our community offers high quality of life, with friendly people, low crime and quality healthcare.

Having fun in our community - and farther afield

Living here means having access to plenty of recreational opportunities along the bay and river. Kids' sports are extremely popular, and so - not surprisingly - is pro-football. Green Bay and legendary Lambeau Field are less than an hour away; lovely Door County with its orchards and beaches is a two-hour drive.

But we have plenty to enjoy close to home, including winding country roads with colorful names and scenic islands. In Marinette County, 14 waterfalls, more than 600 miles of snowmobile trails are less than an hour away. Menominee County offers bayside parks with beaches, artist studios tucked among farms and charming backroads, lined with forests, cornfields and red barns.

Both counties offer luxury resorts and rustic cabins. In the Marinette-Menominee area, stress relief is a short drive away: You can vacation close to home.

We think of ourselves as a region with a sense of small town authenticity that offers easy access to big-city amenities, in our own community and beyond.
