MARINETTE 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATIONJul 2nd - 4th
On July 2, at 8:45p.m.: movie and family dance on Stephenson Island. The movie is "Ratatouille," the story of Remy. a rat with highly-developed culinary skills who teaches a young kitchen helper to prepare gourmet dishes at a posh Paris restaurant.

On July 3, 5-10: p.m., an old-fashioned Fourth of July Celebration on Stephenson Island. From 7 to 10 p.m., Replica, an oldies band, will entertain you.

The fun continues the next day with a 10 a.m parade.

From 11am-9:30pm, concessions open on the island, 11am-3pm/Free activities for kids on the island, 1:30pm/Legion baseball games at Pederson ball park, 6-9pm/concert -"Whistle Gear" on Stephenson Island and 9:30p.m. fireworks by the Hattie Street Bridge. (rain date July 5)

FREE FAMILY DANCE ON STEPHENSON ISLANDJul 2nd
Five Star DJ Service, followed by a free family movie at dusk. No admission fee. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Concessions on the grounds.

MARINETTE RECREATION DEPARTMENT KIDDIE PARADEJul 2nd
3pm, line up at the Civic Center parking lot at 2:15pm. Judging begins at 2:30pm. Open to children of all ages. Ribbons for walkers, rollerbladers, bikers and other categories. Patriotic theme. No pre-registration needed. Call 732-5222 for more information.

Waterfront Festival, Aug. 7-10Jul 5th - 11th
Now in its 26th year, Waterfront Festival is a celebration of summer in downtown Menominee.

Most of the action takes place at Great Lakes Memorial Marina Park, a green area adjacent to one of the loveliest marinas on the Great Lakes.

The festival opens at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, with a kiddie parade and runs through 10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10.

Highlights include entertainment, food booths and other refreshments.

Fireworks are scheduled for 9:15 p.m. on Saturday and a parade begins at noon on Sunday.

WAUSAUKEE INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONJul 5th
