Annual Community Fun Day

Sunday, Aug 01

SS. Joseph & Edward Parish, 1 mile west of Hwy 180 on county G. Mass at 10am, festivities from 11am-2pm.  Food, music and children’s games.  Public is invited.

Bicycle giveway - Bicycle donated by Equitable Reserve Marinette/Menominee Assembly 57/335.  Sign up July 24 thru August 14. Drawing to be held 1:30pm Saturday August 14.  Must be between ages 5 and 15, and only one entry per day per child. Ask for entry slips at courtest counter.

Sunday, August 1 - customers will be judging pirate costume and coloring contest picture.  Curry's pirate float in Waterfront parade!

Monday, August 2 - Contest winners to be notified.  11am-1pm PB&J lunch for children under 10.

Wednesday, August 4, 6pm - Story Night - come have a snack, listen to a good story, and have a chance to win the book.

Thursday, August 5, 6-7pm - Kids dance class.

Tuesday, August 10, 6pm - Children 10 and under can get picture taken with pet.

Thursday, August 12:  Brat fry hosted by American Legion Post 39.  6pm - Zumba for kids by YMCA.

Friday, August 13: Brat fry hosted by American Legion Post 39.

Saturday, August 14:  WrapUp, 10am-2pm - Menominee Animal Shelter Pet Adopton Drive.  Boy Scout Pack 4168 hosting brat fry.  Bouncy houses, games, face painting and more.

Wausaukee St Augustine Parish Picnic

New Shipbuilding Course Begins

September 7 through October 22: UW Marinette Continuing Education is offering a new online course, Introduction to Shipbuilding. Salsa Night

Thursday, September 9th from 6-8 p.m.

Another fun event at the Demonstration Gardens at Harmony Arboretum.  Attend a demonstration on making fresh or canned salsa; taste a variety of different recipes.  Marinette County UW-Extension  Horticulture Agent, Scott Reuss, will be on hand to answer questions on growing the plants involved in salsa making.

Harmony Arboretum is located 7 miles west of Marinette on Hwy 64, then 1/2 mile south on County E

Building Dreams Fundraiser

River Cities Habitat for Humanity will be hosting at Menominee River Golf and Dining.  Event will begin at 5:30pm, and will include a silent and live auction along with other fun events.  Habitat is raising money to refurbish two homes that it owns.

Menominee Flea Markets

September 11, and October 9: The Menominee Flea Market vendors will hold four flea markets this summer at the M&M Plaza in Menominee.  The events will take place near the northeast side of the parking lot and run from 7am - 2pm.  Participation fee is $15 for each flea market date and may be mailed or brought to the Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce administrative office at 601 Marinette Ave, Marinette, WI. Checks should be payable to the Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce.  Sign up forms are available at the chamber or by e-mail request. M&M Timberjacks vs River City Rattlers

Fall Plant Sale at Harmony Arboretum

9am-noon. A variety of winter-hardy perennials for fall planting will be available.  Master Gardner Volunteers will also be available to answer questions and provide gardneing tips. Northern Lights Master Gardeners, a non-profit volunteer organization, is sponsoring this event. Proceeds from the sale are used to enhance and expand Harmony Gardens and provide educational programs to the surrounding communities.

Harmony Arboretum is located on Marinette County Hwy E, ½ mile south of Highway 64, which is 7 miles west of Marinette or 4 miles east of Marinette County Hwy W.

Annual Peshtigo River Paddle

10am-3pm, join Marinette County Land & Water Conservation staff at the City of Peshtigo boat landing on County Road B and end at the County Road BB landing.  Several canoes are available for reservation (starting Aug. 30) welcome to bring your own equipment.  Transportation will be available to shuttle participants back to the put-in point.  Free program.  Call 732-7784 for more information.
